UNIVERSAL CITY, TEXAS — Alyssa Canul, 17, has been arrested for allegedly luring boys on online dating sites so her boyfriend could assault and rob them, authorities reported.

Alleged Scheme

Authorities say Canul partnered with her 17-year-old boyfriend, Joseph Anthony Aguilar, after moving to Universal City. Canul allegedly contacted young men on dating platforms and arranged meetings where Aguilar carried out attacks.

In one instance, a teenage boy was pistol-whipped. In another, a 15-year-old boy was shot four times but survived. Canul reportedly invited the victims to meet at a park bench, then guided them toward locations where Aguilar would confront them.

Arrest and Charges

Canul was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and could face an additional charge of tampering with physical evidence. Investigators allege she disposed of the gun used in the robberies. Aguilar also faces two aggravated robbery charges.

Canul is being held at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.
