A nine-week-old kitten was rescued from a Pepsi machine outside a James Island Walmart.
Rescue Call
Mikey Stinson, a Walmart employee, found the scared gray kitten outside the store and called Carol Linville, founder of Pet Helpers, for help.
Rescue Efforts
Linville arrived at the scene and found the kitten trapped inside a Pepsi machine. With no keys to move it, she called the James Island Fire Department. First responders helped shift the machine, allowing Linville to crawl underneath and carefully coax the kitten out.
Outcome
The kitten, now named Pepsi, was safely placed in a carrier and taken home by Linville. Once he completes socialization and medical care, Pepsi will be available for adoption through Pet Helpers.
