Authorities are searching for a South Carolina couple accused of running a dog-fighting operation.
Incident Details
On April 29, deputies responded to a home on Bering Lane in the Meridian neighborhood after reports of a foul odor. Inside, they found 15 dogs confined in crates filled with urine and feces, without access to water.
Investigation
Animal Control removed the dogs, and investigators uncovered evidence that the animals were being used for dogfighting.
Suspects and Charges
Warrants have been issued for 48-year-old Anthony Juedell Banks and 46-year-old Nicole Lasean Boyd. Both face six charges related to dogfighting and animal cruelty. In South Carolina, dogfighting is a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison and fines of up to $5,000.
