A former Michigan doctor has pleaded guilty to receiving child pornography and faces federal sentencing later this year.
Guilty Plea and Charges
Lincoln Erickson, 32, of Farmington Hills, pleaded guilty on May 20 to receipt of child pornography. He will be required to register as a sex offender. Erickson has been in federal custody since his arrest in December 2025 at a Detroit-area hospital where he was working as a medical resident.
Alleged Crimes
According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Erickson possessed videos of minors engaged in sexual acts, as well as AI-generated pornography depicting children.
Prosecutors also allege that he:
- Tried to convince a father to allow him to bathe the man’s children
- Discussed traveling to Thailand to sexually abuse children with another man who was also arrested
- Fantasized about grooming a child in a relationship with another man, from infancy through adulthood
Statements from Authorities
U.S. Attorney Gorgon called Erickson a “pervert lurking among our trusted medical professionals,” and praised the FBI for intervening.
Jennifer Runyan, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office, said, “Any individual who records, possesses, or distributes child sexual abuse material should expect severe consequences under federal law.” She emphasized the ongoing work of the FBI and Detroit Police Department to protect children in Michigan.
Sentencing
Erickson’s sentencing is scheduled for September 15, 2026.
