An Ohio father has been accused of strangling his adult daughter during an argument over her messy room.
The Incident
On May 9, the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic violence call at a Vienna Township residence. The 22-year-old victim said her 56-year-old father, Jeffrey Canzonetta, became aggressive, pushing her and her mother and making negative comments about her bedroom. When she called 911, Canzonetta allegedly wrapped his hands around her neck, choking her.
Arrest and Charges
Canzonetta left for work after the incident but was arrested at his job and transported to the county jail without incident. He faces felony strangulation and two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence.
Court Proceedings
Canzonetta was arraigned on May 11 at Girard Municipal Court and released on $7,500 bail.
