North Charleston police reviewed a recent incident at a McDonald’s after video showing an officer’s interaction with a bicyclist circulated online.
Details of the Incident
Officers were dispatched to the McDonald’s at 2500 Ashley Phosphate Road on May 14 for a reported collision involving a bicyclist and a motor vehicle. Before North Charleston officers arrived, a Charleston County Sheriff’s Office deputy was flagged down about the incident.
The 32-second video shows a man on the ground with two officers attempting to handcuff him. One officer is seen kneeling on the man’s leg.
