A Wisconsin man will serve probation rather than prison time for a workplace shooting incident at a McDonald’s in Oshkosh.

Incident Overview

Adam Samida, 25, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct while using a deadly weapon. The charges arose from a confrontation with his manager on October 29, 2025, after midnight.

According to a criminal complaint, a manager planned to send Samida home for not working his post. A verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Samida drew a gun and shot his manager in the foot.

Sequence of Events

  • The manager initially attempted to remove Samida from the restaurant.
  • Video evidence showed the manager grabbing Samida, telling him, “I will beat your a—,” and tackling him to the floor.
  • Samida ran to the bathroom and retrieved a firearm, shooting the manager in the foot during a continued struggle.
  • After the incident, Samida left the restaurant and was later arrested without resistance.

Sentencing

Samida was sentenced to 18 months probation for the McDonald’s shooting. Additionally, he received six months in jail for an unrelated December 2025 hit-and-run, along with two years of probation and 30 hours of community service.

The case highlights how video evidence and contextual circumstances affected the sentencing outcome.
