A Minnesota man is behind bars after authorities said he chased down a woman and shot her following a minor traffic accident while her 5-year-old child was inside the vehicle.

Two Suspects Taken Into Custody

Authorities identified the main suspect as Cordaryle Frank-Allen Frost, 38.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Frost was charged with:

  • First-degree assault causing great bodily harm
  • Drive-by shooting toward a person with dangerous weapons

Officials also arrested Cynthia Victoria Frost, 37, in connection with the case.

Incident Began After Minor Vehicle Contact

Investigators said the victim was leaving a prom send-off party in Columbia Heights with her young daughter when her SUV allegedly made minor contact with another parked vehicle.

Authorities said the Frosts then got into their own vehicle and followed the woman as she drove away.

Victim Says Suspects Forced Her to Stop

According to reports, the suspects used a maneuver similar to a PIT maneuver to force the woman to pull over about a block away from the party.

The victim told investigators the suspects got out of their vehicle and threatened to assault her.

She drove away again, but authorities said the suspects caught up to her a second time.

Woman Shot While Child Was Inside SUV

The victim reported hearing a gunshot before losing control of her body.

Investigators said she had been shot in the neck while driving near 53rd Avenue Northeast and University Avenue Northeast in Fridley.

Her SUV crossed the roadway and stopped in a grassy area.

Officials said the woman’s 5-year-old daughter ran from the vehicle searching for help.

Victim Suffers Serious Injuries

Authorities said the victim suffered a spinal cord injury and underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments from her neck.

The full extent of her injuries has not been released.

Suspect Held on $2 Million Bond

Investigators arrested both suspects Monday.

Police said Cordaryle Frost denied involvement in the shooting.

Court records show Cynthia Frost was released from jail Wednesday, while Cordaryle Frost remains in custody on $2 million bond at the Anoka County Jail.
