Authorities in Texas say human remains have been discovered during the long-running investigation into the disappearance of Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, a 6-year-old boy who vanished in 2022.

Police Confirm Discovery During Backyard Search

According to the Everman Police Department, investigators and the FBI searched a backyard at a home on Wisteria Lane in Everman, Texas, earlier this week.

On Thursday, officials confirmed that human remains were found at the property.

Police Chief Al Brooks said the remains are now with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for forensic testing and official identification.

Authorities stressed that the identity has not yet been formally confirmed.

Case Dates Back to 2022 Disappearance

Noel disappeared in the fall of 2022.

Investigators later determined the child had likely been killed, and suspicion eventually focused on his mother, Cindy Rodriguez-Singh.

She was indicted in 2023 on a capital murder charge involving a child under 10 years old.

Earlier Searches Raised Concerns

Investigators previously searched the same property in 2023 after cadaver dogs alerted beneath a recently built patio.

Officials said every search was conducted carefully, though they declined to provide detailed information about the latest discovery because the investigation remains active.

Mother Left Country Before Amber Alert

Authorities said Rodriguez-Singh left the United States with her husband and six other children shortly before an Amber Alert was issued for Noel.

Investigators later learned the family traveled through Turkey with India listed as the final destination.

In 2025, the FBI announced Rodriguez-Singh had been captured after she was added to the agency’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.

Trial Expected to Continue

Court records indicate Rodriguez-Singh was recently found incompetent to stand trial and transferred to a state medical facility for treatment.

However, Phil Sorrells said prosecutors still expect the case to move forward once competency is restored.

Officials said the newly discovered evidence could strengthen the prosecution’s case.
