On Wednesday evening, April 29, 2026, members of the North Charleston Police Department’s Command Staff, officers from the Community Engagement Unit, and local residents gathered for a walk for peace in the Wildwood neighborhood.
The event was organized in collaboration with R.E.C.A.P. (Rebuilding Every Community Around Peace) as part of an ongoing effort to foster connections and build trust within the community.
Strengthening Community Relations
The walk aimed to promote peace, encourage dialogue, and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the citizens of North Charleston. By engaging directly with residents, the event sought to make the community a safer place to live, work, and play.
Looking Ahead
As part of the ongoing initiative, the North Charleston Police Department invites the public to stay informed about future events. Additional walks and community activities will be announced on the department’s social media pages.
