A Florida man has been arrested after authorities said he left the scene of a crash that killed a 17-year-old boy in Seffner.
Teen Killed In Three-Vehicle Crash
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened on April 11 on State Road 574.
Investigators said a Nissan sedan crossed into the opposite lane and crashed head-on into a Volkswagen driven by the teenage victim. Authorities said a Ford F-150 driven by 32-year-old Christopher Everson then struck the Volkswagen.
The teenager suffered serious injuries and later died at a hospital.
Driver Allegedly Left Scene
Police said Everson did not stay at the crash scene. Investigators allege he walked away with his 8-year-old son and later took an Uber back to his home in St. Petersburg.
Authorities arrested Everson on Thursday.
Charges Filed
Court records show Everson is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Officials said he is being held in the Orient Road Jail without bond.
