The Columbia Police Department is investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred on Tuesday night. No injuries were reported in either case.

Fairfield Road Incident

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter notification on Fairfield Road, where they found that a juvenile had produced a firearm during a physical altercation. The juvenile, suspected of stealing property from a vehicle on Spaulding Avenue, was confronted by the victim. During the struggle, the firearm discharged, but no one was injured, and no property was struck.

1810 Germany Street Incident

In the second incident, police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1800 block of Germany Street. Juveniles at the scene told officers they had been involved in a previous altercation at T.S. Martin Park and were leaving when a vehicle drove by and fired a shot. One shell casing was recovered from the scene, but no victims were found.

Both incidents remain under active investigation.
