Police in Charleston, South Carolina, have arrested a man accused of carrying out an armed robbery at a Dollar General store last month.
Suspect Arrested in Charleston Dollar General Robbery
According to the Charleston Police Department, officers responded to the Dollar General on River Road around 8:45 p.m. on April 25 after reports of an armed robbery.
Employees told police that a masked man carrying a rifle entered the store and demanded money.
Suspect Identified After Multi-Agency Investigation
Authorities identified the suspect as 37-year-old Marquell Lovon Holmes of Adams Run.
Police said Holmes fled the scene before officers arrived, leading to an investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies across different jurisdictions.
Investigators also noted that Holmes has previous robbery convictions in the Charleston area.
Multiple Charges Filed
Holmes has been charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing and asked anyone with information to contact the Charleston Police Department.
