An Ohio man has been sentenced to decades in prison after chasing and fatally shooting another man outside a Dunkin’ Donuts following an argument.

Ohio Man Sentenced in Deadly Shooting

Waunyae Arrington, 30, was sentenced Tuesday in Cuyahoga County to at least 28 years in prison for the 2024 killing of 32-year-old Jose Ervin Jr.

According to reports, Arrington pleaded guilty in March 2026 to involuntary manslaughter, felonious assault, and weapons charges.

Argument Ended in Fatal Shooting

The shooting happened on Oct. 4, 2024, at a gas station in Garfield Heights, Ohio.

Police said Ervin was ordering food with a woman after leaving a bar when he got into an argument with Arrington.

Surveillance footage reportedly showed several women trying to separate the two men before Arrington pulled a gun from a bag.

Victim Shot Near Dunkin’ Donuts

Authorities said Ervin ran across the street toward a Dunkin’ Donuts on Turney Road while Arrington fired multiple shots.

During the chase, Ervin appeared to trip and was struck by a bullet.

Officers arrived around 2:45 a.m. and found him unresponsive on the ground. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
