Charleston County will be starting pavement preservation treatments on several roadways in West Ashley and McClellanville on Monday, May 4, 2026. The work, funded through the Transportation Sales Tax program, aims to protect recently resurfaced roads from the damaging effects of the sun and water. This initiative will help extend the lifespan of the pavement and improve its long-term performance.
Pavement Preservation Work in West Ashley
The scheduled work in West Ashley will take place on May 4 and 5, 2026. The following roads will be treated:
- Charlie Hall Boulevard
- Grande Oaks Boulevard
Pavement Preservation Work in McClellanville
In McClellanville, pavement preservation will take place on May 6, 2026, on the following streets:
- North Pinckney Street
- Baker Street
- Lofton Court
- Morrison Court
- Morrison Street
Traffic and Delays
While crews apply the preservation treatments, drivers can expect minimal delays. Temporary lane closures may occur, and traffic control personnel will be on hand to direct vehicles through the work zones safely.
