The tragic incident happened in Syracuse in March 2025. According to officials, David Huff shot and killed his 11-year-old son, Jeremiah Huff, and his girlfriend, Yeraldith Tschudy.
On April 28, David appeared in court and pleaded guilty to two counts of murder. The confirmation was given by Robert Moran.

- Even after being injured, Jeremiah managed to call his mother before he passed away
This call turned into a deeply painful moment, as his mother heard her son’s final moments over the phone.

After the shootings, David also tried to attack his stepfather, Charles O’Donnel. He allegedly pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger, but the weapon malfunctioned, which saved his life.
Disturbing Behaviour in Court

- He smirked and laughed while the charges were being read
- He appeared dismissive and even joked during the proceedings
- When asked by the judge if he found the situation funny, he casually responded
His reaction shocked everyone present, especially considering the seriousness of the crime.
Voices from Authorities
William Fitzpatrick earlier spoke about the emotional impact on Jeremiah’s mother. He highlighted how traumatic it was for her to hear her son die over the phone.
At the same time, prosecutor Moran made it clear that his focus remains on justice for the victims, not on the accused’s behaviour.
