What Happened in the Case
23-year-old Kayla Alvarenga has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for organising the murder of Linver Ortiz Ponce, a 29-year-old man.
The crime took place in September 2022 after the victim parked his car outside her home.
How the Incident Began
According to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the situation started when Alvarenga confronted Ortiz Ponce and asked him to move his car.
When he refused, she contacted others, including Christopher Perdomo and several teenagers, asking them to “teach him a lesson.”
Escalation into Violence
Authorities said the group arrived in a stolen vehicle, pulled the victim from his car, and assaulted him. He managed to escape briefly and ran to a nearby location to hide.
However, prosecutors said Alvarenga instructed the group to find him again.
Abduction and Killing
Surveillance footage reportedly showed the victim being forced into a vehicle at gunpoint. He was then taken to another location, where the attack continued.
