CHARLESTON, S.C. — A tragic accident occurred on Saturday night, when a boat carrying seven people struck a dock near Mount Pleasant. According to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), one person was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision.
The boat had departed from Shem Creek before it crashed into the dock. While the other six occupants of the boat were transported to a local hospital for treatment, they were all released after being evaluated.
Investigation Underway
SCDNR officials have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the crash. The agency has not yet released further details about the circumstances surrounding the accident.
