A major theft case in Oconee County has led to the arrest of a man accused of breaking into multiple storage units over several months.
Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
Authorities say Roman Christopher Greer, 42, from Seneca, was arrested on Friday and is now facing a total of 23 charges.
The charges include:
- 14 counts of second-degree burglary
- 4 counts of petit larceny
- 2 counts of grand larceny
- 2 counts of malicious injury to property
Investigation Into Storage Unit Break-Ins
The case began after deputies received reports of repeated thefts at storage units located on Ustorit Drive, off Old Clemson Highway.
According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office:
- Multiple units were broken into
- Items such as money, bicycles, clothing, tools, and equipment were stolen
- The incidents happened between late 2025 and early 2026
Unusual Method Used
Investigators said the suspect allegedly used an unusual method to carry out the crimes.
Reports state that:
- Holes were cut through the interior walls of storage units
- This allowed access to multiple units from inside
This method made it easier to move between units without being noticed.
Custody and Bond Details
Greer was taken into custody and booked into the local detention centre.
Officials confirmed:
- His bond has been set at $190,625
- He remains in custody as the case moves forward
