A protest event called “No Kings 3” was held on Saturday in North Charleston as part of a nationwide “Day of Action.” The event was organised by the 50501 People’s Movement, which has been conducting similar protests across the country.
According to organisers, this was one of thousands of events planned nationwide, including 23 held across South Carolina.
Event Details and Participation
The protest took place between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston. People gathered to express their views and raise their voices on issues they believe are important.
Organisers shared that the movement has been growing steadily, with more people joining each time. They also mentioned earlier events in Charleston, including a rally held on March 4, 2025, at Hampton Park, where just over 500 people attended.
Later, on October 18, 2025, a second event called “No Kings 2” saw a much larger crowd of more than 3,200 participants. This increase shows rising interest and involvement in the movement.
Purpose Behind the Protest
Organisers stated that the protest was aimed at opposing what they described as “illegal, unconstitutional, and inhumane actions” linked to the administration of Donald Trump.
The demonstrations are part of a broader effort to raise awareness and encourage public discussion around these concerns.
The movement has received support from well-known civil rights groups such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the American Civil Liberties Union. These organisations are known for their work in protecting civil rights and promoting equality.
