U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at San Diego’s Otay Mesa Import Cargo Facility seized 944 pounds of liquid methamphetamine hidden in the fuel tank of a 2019 Kenworth T680 tractor-trailer on March 2, 2026. The driver, Oscar Alonzo Cesena Camacho, a 26-year-old Mexican citizen on a business visa from Tijuana, was arrested and charged with importation of a controlled substance.

Seizure Details

A CBP officer spotted a white crystalline substance on the passenger-side fuel tank during inspection around 11:20 a.m., leading to discovery of 29 buckets (428.60 kg total) of liquid meth inside. Field tests confirmed the substance.

Camacho faces Title 21 U.S.C. Sections 952/960 charges, carrying a life maximum penalty, 10-year mandatory minimum, and $10 million fine. Homeland Security Investigations took over the probe.
