The incident occurred on January 2, when Bennet allegedly used a handgun to rob an Uber Eats driver and steal his burgundy Nissan Altima. Bennet faces charges of carjacking, robbery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and remains in Spartanburg County Detention Center.​

The victim was approached by Bennet, who offered help finding an apartment during the delivery. Bennet then pulled a gun to the victim’s head, took his wallet, and fled in the vehicle with passenger-side door damage. No physical injuries occurred.
