SOUTH CAROLINA— A 16-year-old Walhalla boy died Friday afternoon in a motorcycle accident at Stumphouse Tunnel Road, according to the Oconee County Coroner’s Office.
The accident happened at 3 p.m. near the entrance to the famed beautiful area. The victim was identified by the coroner as Tanner Hopkins of Walhalla, a Walhalla High School student.
Investigators with the South Carolina Highway Patrol have not disclosed any additional information regarding how the crash occurred.
The crash is still under investigation.
