Dorchester County, South Carolina— The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has identified the person died in a two-vehicle crash on US 17 Friday morning.
Craig V. French, 53, of Summerville, was identified as the dead.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred when a Ram pickup truck attempted to pass a Chevrolet sedan as it attempted to turn left onto a private driveway on US-17 Alternate at Clubhouse Road.
The driver of the sedan was identified as French and was pronounced dead on the scene, while the driver of the truck remained unharmed. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that there was one other person in the vehicle with French, and they were taken to a local hospital.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
