SOUTH CAROLINA— Police are looking for two suspects after an employee was attacked and shot during a robbery at a Florence grocery store Thursday night.

According to the Florence Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the Oakland Grocery on Oakland Avenue.

According to investigators, two males entered the store, with one jumping over the counter and displaying a gun before grabbing cash from the register.

Police claimed the same suspect then forced an employee into an office, where he repeatedly beat the guy in the head with the revolver before shooting him in the leg. The two suspects then departed the scene.

The employee was transported to the hospital for treatment. The degree of the injuries has not been revealed.

Police have asked nearby households and businesses to check security footage for any images of the suspects. Anyone with information should call the Florence Police Department.
