South Carolina — The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office reports that two people have been taken into custody after a raid in Wellford as part of a comprehensive drug distribution investigation.
According to deputies, Preston Young’s inquiry got underway in May. The sheriff’s office collaborated with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Greer Police, and Spartanburg Police because the investigation spread to Greer, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Authorities searched a house in Wellford’s 2100 block of Fort Prince Boulevard on September 9; it was found to be Branna Moore’s home and a center for Young’s drug operations.
Investigators found throughout the search:
4.9 pounds, or 2,224 grams, of methamphetamine
1.7 pounds (771 grams) of fentanyl
A total of 106 grams of cocaine
Two pounds, or 908 grams, of marijuana
152 grams of MDMA
Three firearms
Two automobiles
Various pieces of jewelry
On September 9, Young was apprehended at a Greer residence, and on September 10, Moore was placed under arrest.
Both were taken without bond to the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
