A traffic stop leads to a narcotics arrest in the Upstate

Southern Carolina’s Oconee County During a traffic stop on Monday, an Upstate man allegedly confessed to possessing methamphetamine in his car, leading to his arrest.

James Earl Robey, 47, of Seneca, was stopped by a deputy on Highway 59 close to Seneca, according to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.

Robey was unable to produce a driver’s license, registration, or proof of insurance during the stop, according to the sheriff’s office. According to reports, he also informed the deputy that the car contained methamphetamine.

According to reports, the deputy discovered 13.47 grams of meth in the car.

Robey was taken into custody on suspicion of methamphetamine trafficking. He is currently being held in the Oconee County Detention Center for a bond hearing.
