In North Charleston, South Carolina, a 35-year-old man, Rashad Brown, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly committing two robberies on the same day. Brown is facing serious charges, including strong-armed robbery and assault and battery in the second degree. Authorities believe he is responsible for robbing a Sunoco gas station and later carrying out an armed robbery at Doscher’s in Hanahan. Surveillance footage helped link the two robberies to Brown, and he was apprehended in a hotel shortly after the incidents.

The Sunoco Robbery

The first robbery took place at the Sunoco gas station on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. According to the North Charleston Police Department, Brown entered the store and forcibly shoved the cashier to the ground. During the altercation, he stole several items before fleeing the scene. The injured cashier sustained significant injuries, requiring surgery to treat the wounds caused by the violent attack.

The Hanahan Armed Robbery

Later on the same day, another robbery occurred at Doscher’s on Remount Road in Hanahan. Police were called to the scene after a suspect, armed with a knife, stole items from the store. Surveillance footage from the Hanahan robbery revealed that the same person who had robbed the Sunoco gas station was responsible for the armed robbery at Doscher’s. Authorities quickly connected the two incidents and launched an investigation to find the suspect.

Arrest and Charges

After tracking down the suspect, police found Brown at a hotel located on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. He was arrested and taken into custody, where he is currently being held at the Hill Finklea Detention Center. In addition to the charges filed by the North Charleston Police Department, the Hanahan Police Department is also considering additional charges, given the nature of the second robbery.

Rashad Brown’s arrest following the two violent robberies has raised concerns about public safety in the region. The quick response of law enforcement and the use of surveillance footage were crucial in identifying and apprehending the suspect. As the case progresses, Brown faces serious charges for his role in these crimes, and the community is awaiting further developments, including potential additional charges from the Hanahan Police Department.
