A man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in North Charleston on Saturday.

An officer from the North Charleston Police Department stopped a vehicle on Northwood Boulevard for failing to signal and making an illegal lane change.

During the stop, the driver, 41-year-old Danyell Jenkins, informed officers that a gun was in the car. It was discovered under the back seat, according to the NCPD.

Jenkins was arrested for a warrant. He is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, habitual traffic offender, driving under suspension (third offense), and open container of beer.

He was booked into Al Cannon Detention Center.
