Charleston, S.C. – On Saturday, the Mommy Wellness Mini-Tour made a stop at the Citadel Mall in Charleston, providing local families with vital education, support, and resources. The event aimed to create a caring environment where families can feel supported and informed.
A Day of Education and Community Support
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., families attended expert-led workshops on various topics, including nutrition, maternal and infant health, and more. The event also offered a free cooking demonstration, a community baby shower, and a giveaway to assist families in need.
Joy Campbell, founder of I Serve With Joy, emphasized the growing need for such support. “We’re seeing a rising number of families facing hardship. Our last community baby shower saw a staggering 60% increase in expecting moms,” Campbell shared. “Families are being stretched beyond their limits, and the need for compassion-driven community support has never been greater.”
Upcoming Tour Stops
The Mommy Wellness Mini-Tour will continue with stops in Walterboro, focusing on back-to-school essentials for students and families, and Jasper County, which will offer more baby care essentials and resources for parents in the early stages of parenthood.
“Whether preparing for a new baby or gearing up for back-to-school season, these events are designed to empower parents with practical knowledge, trusted professionals, and a community that truly cares,” the organizers said in a press release.
Community Involvement
Local businesses and residents are encouraged to get involved by donating baby items. Businesses can host donation boxes for new baby items, or individuals can drop off donations at designated locations, including:
