Hensley had been drinking earlier that evening and returned to his apartment. Less than an hour after stepping outside, he was discovered dying near the intersection of 20th and Little Raven Streets. According to his wife, Allison Hensley, the alleged shooter claims self-defense, but she disputes that narrative.
Wife’s Account
“Allison Hensley said her husband did not drink regularly, and that night he was so intoxicated he could barely stand,” reports local NBC affiliate KUSA. She described him as “a great dad, amazing person, very intelligent, and very driven.”
Allison emphasized that Jacob would never threaten anyone, noting that while he carried a pocketknife for work as a general contractor, he would not use it aggressively.
Police Investigation
Authorities stated that Jacob Hensley was shot by a person in a car who allegedly acted in self-defense. Police transported Hensley to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
