A Wisconsin woman has been arrested in Florida after authorities accused her of drugging men she met at clubs and hotels before stealing expensive jewelry, watches, and designer clothing.
Woman Accused in Multiple Theft Cases
Deziree Nicole Hood, 20, is facing two counts of grand theft and one count of false imprisonment in connection with two separate incidents that happened earlier this month in the Miami area.
According to police, Hood allegedly targeted men she met socially before stealing valuable items from them.
Victim Says He Was Drugged at Hotel
The first incident reportedly happened on May 16 at the Candlewood Suites Hotel in Virginia Gardens.
The victim told police he met Hood at the hotel, where the two had drinks together. He claimed Hood handed him a drink, after which he began feeling dizzy, disoriented, and unable to remember what happened next.
When he woke up, his Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch worth around $14,000 was missing.
Investigators said a blood test later showed the victim had benzodiazepines, commonly known as benzos, in his system. Police believe the drug was given to him without his knowledge.
Authorities also claimed they found a selfie on Hood’s social media account showing her wearing the stolen watch.
Second Victim Lost Jewelry and Designer Clothes
A second incident allegedly took place on May 21 at the W Miami hotel in downtown Miami.
According to police, the victim met Hood at a club before the two returned to his hotel room around 3 a.m. They continued drinking until the victim fell asleep around 6 a.m.
When he woke up later that morning, Hood was gone along with several pieces of jewelry and designer clothing valued at nearly $60,000.
Security cameras reportedly captured Hood leaving the hotel carrying a large bag.
Arrest and Investigation
Police said the second victim tried contacting Hood through phone calls and Instagram messages but received no response.
Investigators later identified Hood through her phone number, and the victim reportedly identified her in a photo lineup.
Authorities arrested Hood on Saturday and transported her to the Miami-Dade Jail. She has since posted bond. Her next court date has not yet been listed.
