Multi-GRAMMY-winning artist Darius Rucker will receive the Veterans Voice Award at the 52nd American Music Awards, organizers announced Tuesday.
The award is presented through USAA’s Honor Through Action program and recognizes artists who use their influence to support military veterans and their families.
Officials said the honor celebrates Rucker’s longtime commitment to serving and uplifting the military community.
Award Recognizes Service and Advocacy
According to USAA, the Veterans Voice Award is given to artists who create meaningful change through advocacy, charitable work, and public support for veterans.
Chris Curtin, USAA’s Chief Marketing Officer, praised Rucker for standing beside military families not only through words but through continued action and support.
The award announcement was made ahead of Memorial Day celebrations, emphasizing remembrance and appreciation for service members and their sacrifices.
Hootie & the Blowfish to Perform Live
In addition to receiving the award, Rucker will also perform live during the American Music Awards ceremony alongside his Hootie & the Blowfish bandmates.
The performance marks another major appearance for the Charleston-born singer, who first rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the band before launching a successful solo country music career.
Queen Latifah Hosting Awards Show
The 52nd American Music Awards will be hosted by Queen Latifah.
The ceremony is scheduled to air on CBS and Paramount+ on May 25.
The annual awards show honors achievements across the music industry while also spotlighting artists involved in charitable and community efforts.
