Canadian authorities have confirmed the death of actor Stewart McLean, whose remains were found in Lions Bay, British Columbia.
Discovery and Investigation
McLean, 45, was last seen at his residence on May 15, 2026. The Squamish RCMP received a missing person report on May 18. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) located his remains in the Lions Bay area, confirming that he is believed to be a homicide victim.
IHIT Cpl. Esther Tupper said investigators are reviewing CCTV footage, conducting interviews, and analyzing evidence to build a timeline of McLean’s activities prior to his disappearance. Police have stated the case appears to be an isolated incident.

Talent agency Lucas Talent Inc. confirmed McLean’s death in a Facebook statement written by agent Jodi Caplan. They described McLean as “dedicated, professional, eager, and endlessly funny,” adding that he will be deeply missed.
