A Wisconsin college lacrosse player is facing charges after a crash killed two of his teammates.
The Crash
Peter McColgan, 21, allegedly drove his Jeep at 53 mph in a 30 mph zone on Sept. 5 in Milwaukee, trying to beat a yellow light. He collided with a Ford Ranger making a left turn at the intersection of N. 27th Street and W. St. Paul Avenue.
Victims
The crash killed two Marquette University lacrosse teammates: 19-year-old Scott Michaud and 20-year-old Noah Snyder. Both were found unconscious in the Jeep and later pronounced dead.
Investigation Details
Police say McColgan “depressed the accelerator 100%” before the crash and had enough time to stop safely. Video and vehicle data support this. McColgan faces two counts of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle.
Other Driver
Amanda Brunner, driving the Ranger, was reportedly impaired with a BAC of 0.133. She was arrested and charged with two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. Her trial is scheduled later this year.
Background and Legal Status
McColgan, from Ohio, played one game for Marquette’s lacrosse team in 2026 and earned Big East All-Academic honors in 2024-25. He is not in jail, and his next court date is July 16.
