A Texas woman is in custody after allegedly shooting her live-in boyfriend during an argument in Cherokee County.
The Shooting
Alanna Dawn Bilbo, 33, allegedly shot her boyfriend in the head and neck at their home on County Road 2813 in Alto, Texas, on Monday evening. Deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred after a verbal argument about their relationship escalated.
Victim’s Condition
The victim was flown to a hospital in Tyler and was reported in stable condition as of Tuesday. Authorities said both Bilbo and her boyfriend were allegedly using drugs at the time of the shooting.
Charges and Bond
Bilbo faces one count of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury to a person she is in a relationship with. She is being held at the Cherokee County Jail on a $150,000 bond. A magistrate judge issued a protective order barring Bilbo from contacting her boyfriend for three months and from possessing a firearm.
