A Kentucky man has been charged with multiple crimes after allegedly assaulting a couple with a baseball bat following a dispute over Wi-Fi access. Jonathan Gross, 44, was arrested on Sunday, May 3, after police say he attacked the couple in their apartment when he was unable to use their Wi-Fi.
The Incident
According to police reports, Gross hit the man and his girlfriend in the head with a baseball bat. Officers arrived to find the woman sitting outside the apartment, bleeding from a head injury. The alleged attack followed Gross telling the couple he would kill them if the Wi-Fi was not restored by the time he returned to his room.
Arrest and Charges
When authorities arrived at the scene, Gross allegedly refused to exit his room, prompting officers to enter and arrest him. He was taken into custody at the Pulaski County Detention Center.
Gross faces charges including two counts of attempted murder, second-degree disorderly conduct, two counts of third-degree terroristic threatening, and alcohol intoxication in a public place. He is being held on a $1 million cash bond.
Legal Proceedings
Gross is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 13 at 1:30 p.m. It is not yet known if he has retained legal counsel.
