CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 24-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a 19-year-old woman found in east Charlotte last week, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Victim Found Dead Near Albemarle Road
Police said officers discovered 19-year-old Isabella Alexander Stroupe dead on Friday, May 1, near Yateswood Drive, close to Albemarle Road in east Charlotte.
Authorities have not yet released details about how Stroupe died or what events led up to her death.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
On Tuesday, May 5, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced that 24-year-old Thomaz Kenon Hamilton had been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape in the case.
Investigators have not shared additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident or the relationship between the victim and the suspect.

The case remains under investigation as detectives continue gathering evidence and working to determine the full timeline of events leading to Stroupe’s death.
