A tragic road accident in Williamsburg County has resulted in one death and left another person injured. Authorities are still investigating what caused the crash.
What Happened in the Crash
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Monday around 3:10 p.m.
A 2021 Chevrolet sedan was travelling north on Hemingway Highway. Near the intersection with Taylor Circle, the vehicle suddenly went off the left side of the road.
Crash Details
Officials said the car entered a ditch and overturned. The impact of the crash was severe.
As a result:
- A passenger in the vehicle died at the scene
- The driver was injured and taken to a nearby hospital
The identity of the passenger has not yet been released by the coroner’s office.
