A lively shopping and cultural event is set to return to Charleston, bringing together local creativity, food, and community spirit. The Boulevard Bazaar is coming back on May 3, promising a fun and vibrant experience for residents and visitors alike as part of Small Business Week celebrations.
What is Boulevard Bazaar
The Boulevard Bazaar is an open-air artisan market held at Navy Yard Charleston. This will be the second year of the event, and organisers are planning an even bigger and better experience.
The event stretches across both sides of Noisette Boulevard, turning the area into a lively marketplace. Visitors can explore a wide variety of stalls featuring handmade products, vintage items, art, and unique goods created by local businesses.
The main aim of the event is to support small businesses and give them a platform to showcase their work. It also gives the local community a chance to discover new brands and shop directly from creators.
What Visitors Can Expect
The bazaar will feature a carefully selected group of local vendors. These include artists, jewellery makers, ceramic creators, and lifestyle brands. Shoppers can expect to find everything from handmade candles and pottery to custom artwork and fashion accessories.
Along with shopping, food lovers will have plenty of options. Several popular food trucks will be present, offering a mix of cuisines and street food favourites. This adds to the overall festival vibe and ensures there is something for everyone.
Inside Navy Yard Charleston, additional experiences will be available. A special ceramics exhibition by artist Beatrice Bernier will be hosted at Nidum Gallery. Visitors can also explore a new candle collection launched by Dwell Somatic Studio in collaboration with LumiMelts. Meanwhile, Second State Coffee will be serving beverages to keep guests refreshed throughout the day.
Fun Activities and Entertainment
Boulevard Bazaar is not just about shopping. It is designed as a full-day experience with activities for all age groups.
Visitors can enjoy creative workshops like floral bouquet-making with Sweet Jessamine and chain stitch embroidery by Fast Doll. There will also be henna art, which adds a cultural and artistic touch to the event.
Live music will be performed by Run River Run, creating a lively and relaxing atmosphere. Families attending the event can look forward to kid-friendly activities such as face painting and balloon twisting, making it an enjoyable outing for children as well.
How the Event Started
Boulevard Bazaar was first introduced in 2025. It was created by combining two popular local events, “Sunday at Celadon” and “Assemble @ Navy Yard CHS.”
The idea behind merging these events was to bring together a larger group of vendors and create a stronger platform for local businesses. The initiative also supports the transformation of Navy Yard Charleston into a modern and vibrant community space.
Since its launch, the event has quickly gained popularity and become an important part of the city’s cultural calendar.
Why Events Like This Matter
Events like Boulevard Bazaar play a big role in supporting local economies. They give small businesses a chance to grow, connect with customers, and build brand recognition.
They also help create a sense of community. People get to meet local creators, enjoy live entertainment, and spend quality time with family and friends in a positive environment.
In a time when online shopping is growing, such markets bring back the joy of in-person experiences and personal connections.
