Daddy hit mommy: Police say a man stabbed his wife to death and dragged her body around the house as officers were watching.

Police in Wisconsin are actively searching for Marckus Plaza, 33, who is suspected of fatally stabbing his estranged wife in her home in Kenosha while their two young children were inside. A criminal complaint from the Kenosha County District Attorney’s Office says the woman was on the phone with a friend early Wednesday morning when the friend heard what she believed was Plaza “getting physical” with her and called 911.

What happened at the scene

When Kenosha officers arrived, Plaza opened the door using the name “Allen” and then closed it in their faces. Officers went around back and saw through a basement window that he was dragging a body they later identified as his wife. After forcing their way in, they found the woman dead with a knife driven into her left eye. Blood and signs of a struggle were throughout the home.

The couple’s two children were also in the house: one child was days away from turning 5; the other was younger. The 5‑year‑old told officers, “Daddy hit Mommy,” and later, at the Children’s Advocacy Center, said, “Momma got dead … Daddy use a knife, my daddy do it.” The younger child was found with blood on his clothes.

Manhunt and charges

Plaza fled the home before police could detain him and remains at large. The DA has charged him with first‑degree intentional homicide and asked the public to contact the Kenosha Police Department with any information about his whereabouts. Authorities warn people not to approach Plaza but instead to call law enforcement immediately if they see him.
