Police: Trident Technical College employee found leaving campus with firearms.

Shocking weapons bust in North Charleston, South Carolina: 64-year-old Trident Technical College Procurement Officer Jeffrey Harold O’Dell arrested Wednesday for possession of a firearm on school property after a traffic stop revealed an arsenal in his car.

The Stop and Find

Around 6:30 p.m. near Ashley Phosphate Road and Stafford Street, cops pulled over O’Dell’s erratic vehicle (multiple violations, smelled of marijuana). Nervous driver admitted to a loaded handgun (round chambered, 5 in mag) under a towel. Probable cause search uncovered 5 more loaded pistol mags, two large knives (>2″ blades) in a lunchbox, a stun gun, and in the trunk—a PSA AK rifle with 11 loaded mags plus 305 live rounds total.

College Response

Trident Tech confirmed O’Dell’s role, placed him on leave—no threats to campus per police. Fully cooperating; booked into Al Cannon Detention Center. No injuries, but hits close to home with your interest in SC news—armed on college grounds is wild. Thoughts?
