Florence County Fire Rescue handled three separate emergencies within about 40 minutes on Saturday afternoon in the Johnsonville and Pamplico areas.
First Incident
At 4:15 p.m., crews tackled an out-of-control yard fire on the 600 block of East Saint Luke Church Road in Johnsonville that had spread to an unoccupied single-wide mobile home; they contained it swiftly.
Second Call
Five minutes later at 4:20 p.m., firefighters assisted EMS on the 400 block of Sixth Avenue in Pamplico with forced entry for a medical patient, who was then transported to a hospital.
Third Response
By 4:55 p.m., they addressed an oven fire—used improperly as a heater—on the 400 block of Third Avenue in Pamplico. The resident had extinguished it with a kitchen extinguisher; one adult and three children were checked for smoke inhalation, and thermal imaging confirmed no further spread.
