Holy City Mission shows its year-round need for volunteers while serving Christmas food.

Holy City Missions in North Charleston opened their soup kitchen on Christmas Day, sticking to their regular Monday and Thursday schedule to serve a full holiday meal to those in need.

Volunteers like five-year veteran Lynda Gildea and supervisor Mary Brown provided turkey, stuffing, vegetables, desserts, and extras like homemade pound cake, brownies, plus gifts such as gloves, hats, blankets, and snacks.

The group emphasizes year-round help through their food bank, clothing closet, showers, and warming shelter, calling for ongoing volunteers beyond the holidays.
