Charleston police established holiday traffic roadblocks to ensure road safety following Thanksgiving

Charleston, South Carolina — The Charleston Police Department will set up traffic safety checkpoints Friday to ensure that vehicles travel safely after the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to authorities, checkpoints will be set up in the following locations:

Checkpoints on Folly Road Blvd between Albemarle Road and East Bay Street near Blake Street will take place between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., with no specific end time announced.

Before hitting the road, authorities recommend that you designate a driver ahead of time. If there is no sober driver available, authorities recommend calling a friend or family member, hailing a taxi, or using your smartphone to order a car sharing service.
