Columbia County, Georgia – Following an ongoing investigation, a Lakeside High School teacher has lost his job.
According to the Columbia County School District, during an ongoing inquiry, the now-former teacher, Jerry Meitin, allegedly made threatening comments to a pupil during class.
In a notice letter to parents, the Columbia County School District stated that the former teacher is no longer employed by the district and will be held accountable in accordance with the law.
The letter states that authorities do not condone or accept disrespectful or threatening remarks made by staff or students.
According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Meitin has been charged with Terroristic Threats and Acts.
Administrators said the probe is underway.
