Phoenix Weather: Triple-Digit Heat Holds Until Midweek, Cooling Trend to Follow

Arizona is set to endure several more days of extreme heat before relief arrives later this week. Phoenix will climb to around 105 degrees by Tuesday, while parts of southwest Arizona, including Yuma, could reach near 110. A shift toward cooler weather is expected by Thursday as a low-pressure system moves in from the west.

Heat Continues Through Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Phoenix reports that the Valley will remain dry, with only a slim chance—less than 5%—of rain across the metro. Temperatures will run several degrees above average, keeping much of central and southwest Arizona under a moderate heat risk until midweek.

Where Storms Could Develop

Although Phoenix itself will stay mostly clear, isolated storms could flare near the Kofa Mountains in northern Yuma County and in parts of central La Paz County. These storms will be limited in coverage but may bring brief gusty winds and lightning.

Safety Reminders for Residents

With highs sticking in the triple digits, residents are advised to:

Limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated

Use shade and sunscreen when outdoors

Check on elderly neighbors, children, and pets, who are most at risk

A Break From the Heat Ahead

Relief is on the horizon. By Thursday, highs across Phoenix and surrounding areas will begin to dip below seasonal norms. This cooling trend marks the first meaningful break from the summer heat in weeks, providing a much-needed shift for outdoor workers and residents alike.

Other Arizona Cities

Yuma: Near 110° through Tuesday

El Centro: Several degrees above average, nearing 108°

Globe: Staying hot but easing slightly after Wednesday

The transition to cooler conditions later this week signals that the long desert summer is finally beginning to ease.
