New Hampshire Driver Seriously Injured After Interstate 93 Pursuit

High-Speed Pursuit Leads to Rollover Crash

A 21-year-old man from Hooksett, New Hampshire, was seriously injured early Tuesday following a high-speed pursuit and subsequent rollover crash on Interstate 93.

Chase Begins with Traffic Stop in Bow

The incident began around 2:47 a.m. when Trooper Noah Gooch of the Troop D barracks initiated a traffic stop on a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta traveling southbound in Bow. The driver, identified as Aaron C. Thurber, allegedly fled the stop at a high rate of speed, prompting police to pursue him.

Tire Deflation Device and Close Call with Construction Worker

As the pursuit continued south of the Hooksett tolls, authorities deployed tire deflation devices, successfully puncturing one of the Jetta’s tires. While navigating a work zone in Hooksett, Thurber’s vehicle reportedly came dangerously close to striking a construction worker. The driver then used a restricted access crossover to reverse direction and head northbound.

Crash in Northfield and Serious Injuries

The pursuit reached Northfield, where Thurber reportedly lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road, striking an embankment, and rolling the vehicle. Thurber was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Pending Charges and Ongoing Investigation

Thurber is facing pending charges, including reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying a police officer, and reckless operation. Troopers from the Troop B barracks, Northfield Police Department officers, and members of the Tilton-Northfield Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Trooper Noah Gooch at [email protected].
