A tragic incident unfolded outside a Nashville school early Monday morning, where a woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her estranged husband. The man is now on the run, and police are asking for help in finding him.
What Happened Outside the School?
Niurka Alfonso-Acevedo, 52, was getting ready to start her shift as a custodian at Chadwell Elementary School when she was attacked in the school parking lot. The incident happened before any students had arrived, according to Metro Nashville Police.
Detectives believe her estranged husband, Candido Raul Rubio-Perez, 54, was waiting for her at the school. He is suspected of carrying out the fatal stabbing and then running away from the scene.

Police said a school staff member found Alfonso-Acevedo lying on the ground and quickly called 911. She had been working at the school since October 2024 and was known among the school community.

Metro Nashville Public Schools released a statement expressing their sorrow:
