The BCSO states that an online tip resulted in many narcotics and firearm charges.

Rodney Black, a 24-year-old Ladson man, was arrested by Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office on multiple drug and firearm charges following a November 2025 community tip about suspicious activity at his residence.

Arrest Circumstances

On February 26, 2026, deputies attempted to stop Black for speeding on College Park Road; he fled, discarding narcotics from his window before being apprehended. The traffic stop yielded three bags of marijuana, 17.48 grams of cocaine, and a gun.

A search warrant at Black’s home uncovered 4.54 lbs of marijuana, 1.11 lbs of methamphetamine, three Alprazolam units, 24 Schedule II tablets, four firearms, and $8,047 in cash.

Charges Faced

Black faces trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, failure to stop for blue lights, possession of Schedule II/IV substances, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and ten counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. BCSO thanked the tipster and urged reporting suspicious activity.
